A tragic collapse at an unauthorized mining site in China's Yunnan province resulted in the deaths of five individuals. The incident, reported by Xinhua, unfolded early Sunday morning in Huize County. One additional person sustained injuries but is currently in stable condition.
Rescue teams extracted all six people trapped at the Baiwu village location and transported them to a nearby hospital, where five succumbed to their injuries. Meanwhile, authorities have launched an investigation to uncover the cause of the collapse.
This incident follows a recent coal mine blast in Shanxi province that claimed 82 lives, with prior reports citing serious legal violations by the mine operator.
