Colombian Ecopetrol's main union calls 24-hour strike
A 24-hour strike has been called by Colombia's state-run oil company Ecopetrol's main union, USO, to protest a deadlock in negotiations over working conditions.
The main union at Colombia's state-run oil company Ecopetrol, USO, called a 24-hour strike on Tuesday to protest a deadlock in negotiations over the collective bargaining agreement regarding working conditions, the union said in a statement.
USO did not immediately specify the exact time the work stoppage began, but workers at the Ecopetrol's Barrancabermeja refinery told Reuters that workers are currently blocking access to the industrial complex.
