Israel's Foreign Ministry said it summoned the Russian ambassador for "a tough talk" over the comments, which Lavrov made on Sunday in an interview with Italian television. Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said Lavrov had made "an unforgivable, scandalous statement".
