The Election Commission reported a voter turnout of 68.24% in Manglaur and 49.80% in Badrinath for the recent assembly bypolls in Uttarakhand.
The elections took place on Wednesday, necessitated by the death of BSP MLA Sarwat Karim Ansari in Manglaur and the resignation of Congress MLA Rajendra Bhandari in Badrinath.
In Manglaur, Ansari's son, Ubedur Rehman, contested against Congress's Qazi Nizamuddin, while BJP’s Gujjar leader Kartar Singh Bhadana aimed to win the Muslim-dominated seat for the first time.
Badrinath saw a direct contest between BJP’s Rajendra Bhandari and Congress newcomer Lakhpat Singh Butola.
Voters' decisions on the 10 candidates in Manglaur and four in Badrinath will be revealed on July 13.
