Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday condemned objectionable remarks made by individuals from a political party, aimed at a particular community. Pawar affirmed the NCP's strong opposition to such language.
Pawar's comments pointed towards BJP MLA Nitesh Rane, who in a recent video urged a gathering to engage in business only with Hindus. Rane had earlier threatened Muslims over their protests against objectionable remarks made by Nashik-based spiritual leader Ramgiri Maharaj.
Addressing a gathering in Chakan, Pawar stated, ''Such language creates divisions in society. We do not support it.'' He also urged the public to refrain from voting emotionally and to support the NCP. Pawar noted his 34-year public service without any best speech or parliamentarian awards.
