Iran Upholds Missile Program Amid Regional Security Concerns
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed Tehran's commitment to its missile program, citing regional security threats, particularly from Israel. The U.S. and allies have accused Iran of supplying ballistic missiles to Russia for its war in Ukraine, leading to new sanctions. Both Iran and Russia deny these allegations.
In a resolute statement on Monday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that Tehran will not relinquish its missile program, which he believes is crucial for Iran's security. This stance is underscored by Israel's capacity to conduct missile strikes on Gaza daily.
For years, the Islamic Republic has resisted Western pressure to curb its missile initiatives. Recent allegations from the United States and its allies claim that Iran has been transferring ballistic missiles to Russia for use in the Ukraine conflict, prompting new sanctions on both Moscow and Tehran.
However, both nations have categorically denied these accusations. Pezeshkian reiterated Iran's long-standing position, urging the global community to demand Israel's disarmament before considering similar requests for Iran.
