Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, in his role overseeing government formation, urged political parties on Sunday to engage in discussions after the far-right Freedom Party emerged victorious in the parliamentary election, though it failed to secure a majority.
"Now it's about reaching out to each other, talking to each other, negotiating to find good, solid compromises. Finding these solutions can take time, and ladies and gentlemen, it is time well spent," Van der Bellen stated in a national address. He confirmed plans to hold talks with party leaders to facilitate the process.
The President's call for dialogue underscores the need for collaboration and compromise to achieve stable governance despite a fragmented electoral outcome.
