Trump Takes Diplomatic Steps Towards Resolving Ukraine Conflict
Donald Trump engaged in significant diplomatic discussions regarding the Ukraine conflict, speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. Trump's administration emphasized that returning Ukraine to its pre-2014 borders isn't feasible and proposed European allies provide future military support for Ukraine.

On Wednesday, Donald Trump initiated diplomatic discussions to resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine by speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. This marks Trump's first significant diplomatic move to address a war he has vowed to end.
Trump revealed on his social media platform that he and Putin agreed to begin negotiations, starting with a phone call to Zelenskiy. The Kremlin confirmed that Putin invited Trump to Moscow for further talks. Meanwhile, Trump's Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, stated that returning to Ukraine's pre-2014 borders was not a realistic solution to the war.
Hegseth's statements, made at NATO headquarters in Brussels, reflect the U.S. administration's new approach to the nearly three-year-old conflict. He stressed that European allies will have to lead future military support for Ukraine, as Ukraine continues efforts against Russian advances and seeks security guarantees.
