Counting for the Kaliganj assembly by-election in West Bengal's Nadia district began on Monday, carried out under stringent security, an Election Commission official confirmed.
The process kicked off at 8 am, marking the start of a pivotal election necessitated by the February demise of Trinamool Congress MLA Nasiruddin Ahamed.
