The Telangana High Court has quashed a defamation suit filed against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The case was rooted in statements Reddy made during the 2024 Lok Sabha election campaign.
BJP General Secretary Kasam Venkateshwarlu accused Reddy of making unfounded allegations against the party, claiming that Reddy suggested the BJP would amend the Constitution to remove reservations if elected. These claims led to a defamation case in a special court.
In response, Reddy filed a petition to dismiss the charges, leading the High Court to nullify the proceedings against him. The court previously granted Reddy an exemption from appearing in person during the trial.
