In the midst of a mounting power struggle over Karnataka's Chief Ministerial position, a crucial meeting took place between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his Deputy DK Shivakumar at Siddaramaiah's residence. The high-stakes breakfast gathering aimed to de-escalate tensions as the leaders attempted to reach a consensus over traditional idli and sambar. CM Siddaramaiah had initiated the meeting, seeking to resolve the internal discord shaking the party.

Legal advisor to the CM, AS Ponnanna, was also in attendance. Despite the intensifying tussle, Siddaramaiah maintained his previous stance, asserting that the high command's direction would be followed without deviation. He remarked, 'The high command has summoned both of us. I've invited Shivakumar for breakfast to discuss it further. My commitment to the high command's decision remains unchanged.' The Congress plans to address the ongoing crisis with central leaders following a party strategy meeting before the winter session of Parliament on November 30.

Deputy CM Shivakumar, on the other hand, reiterated the Congress high command's role in making leadership decisions. Addressing the media in Bengaluru, he acknowledged the eagerness of his supporters but showed no urgency for a change in leadership, stating, 'The party workers may be eager, but I am in no hurry. The party will decide every move.' He did not dismiss a potential visit to the national capital but clarified that his focus would be on raising significant issues with the Congress leadership in preparation for the Parliament session. Meanwhile, opposition leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy criticized Karnataka's Congress leadership, dismissing their internal disputes as unrelated to public concerns.
