In a sharp critique, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray accused the Maharashtra government of stifling debate and suppressing Opposition voices in the legislature. His comments highlighted the ongoing struggle for the Leader of Opposition post, which remains vacant due to no party meeting the required 10 percent seat threshold.
Thackeray alleged the Devendra Fadnavis-led administration operates in fear, silencing discussion on issues crucial to citizens. He pointed out BJP officials arriving in private jets for legislative sessions, questioning the funding source, particularly amid widespread airline disruptions affecting ordinary citizens.
Thackeray also targeted the BJP for allegedly exploiting national symbols like 'Vande Mataram' for electoral gains, only to restrict their parliamentary use. He criticized government negligence following a Goa nightclub fire disaster, urging stricter enforcement of laws to prevent such tragic incidents.
