The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has lodged a formal complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner, accusing Bharatiya Janata Party's Dilip Ghosh of breaching the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). The complaint alleges that Ghosh made violent threats against AITC leaders and the general public in West Bengal's Kalighat and Chetla regions.

According to the AITC, viral videos and press articles capture Ghosh's alleged threats. The party contends that Ghosh's actions represent an MCC violation, as the code explicitly forbids incitement of community tensions. Specific allegations include threats to attack the residence of AITC leader Madan Mitra.

The political climate in West Bengal intensifies as these accusations surface ahead of the assembly elections, scheduled for April 23 and 29. BJP's Dilip Ghosh, poised to contest from Kharagpur Sadar, has criticized Mamata Banerjee for opposing election and judicial authorities. This election season prominently features confrontations in key constituencies like Bhabanipur and Nandigram.
