Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of AIMIM, has urged voters in Assam, particularly those from the Muslim community, to back the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) in the forthcoming assembly elections.

Owaisi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of unconstitutional discrimination and criticized the Congress party for not effectively opposing these actions. Speaking at a public gathering, he highlighted the eviction of 50,000 Muslims and stressed the necessity of voting for AIUDF to ensure the representation of minority voices in the legislative assembly.

On his two-day visit to Assam, Owaisi also accused Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of fostering a 'politics of hatred' against Muslims. With elections approaching, the state is set for a battle as the BJP-led NDA seeks a third term while Congress attempts a comeback.
