DMK Leadership Shift in Puducherry: Nazeem Takes Charge

The Puducherry DMK has appointed A M H Nazeem as its new legislature leader, with R Senthil Kumar as the deputy leader. This decision was announced after a high-level meeting chaired by party propaganda secretary and Lok Sabha MP, S Jagathrakshakan.
In the recent elections, the DMK secured victories in five out of the 30 assembly seats in Puducherry. A M H Nazeem managed to clinch the Karaikal South assembly constituency with a 5,862 vote lead over his closest rival from the INC, A V S Sakthivel Prabu.
Similarly, R Senthil Kumar won the Bahour constituency by surpassing his INC opponent T Thiagarajan by 2,397 votes. The recent elections took place on April 9, with vote counting concluded on May 4 where the AINRC-led NDA came out victorious overall.
