A Ukrainian drone targeted a train in Crimea, resulting in the death of an assistant driver and injuries to the driver, according to the Russian-installed governor of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, who informed the public via Telegram on Monday.

No passengers on the train, which was traveling between Moscow and Simferopol, were injured, Aksyonov confirmed. The attack led to the suspension of train services in Crimea, as reported by the Interfax news agency. Crimea, annexed by Russia in 2014, remains a popular destination for Russian tourists.

Drone alerts were activated early Monday in Novorossiysk, a vital oil and grain export port in Russia's Krasnodar region, located near the bridge linking Russia to Crimea. Ukrainian drone strikes have increasingly targeted fuel infrastructure, escalating the need for fuel rationing in the Crimean peninsula. In Sevastopol, Crimean authorities are managing fuel supply via electronic codes, swiftly exhausted due to heightened demand.
