New Delhi (India), July 29: International Tiger Day, celebrated each year on July 29, was first established at the 2010 St. Petersburg Tiger Summit to raise awareness about the plight of wild tigers.
India, home to 3,167 tigers according to the 2022 Census, holds nearly 75% of the global tiger population. To mark the occasion, In Vogue Life magazine and Wildlife Photographers Collective India (WPCI) produced a collaborative video aimed at highlighting tiger conservation efforts.
Notable figures like Daljeet Singh and Kartick Satyanarayan stressed the importance of multi-faceted efforts, from medical care to combating poaching, in ensuring the survival of this iconic species.
