The water stock in Jayakwadi dam, located in central Maharashtra's Marathwada region, has reached 64.3%, officials announced on Wednesday. This increase allows for the comfortable release of water for irrigation purposes.

Serving Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, and other towns in Marathwada, the reservoir has seen significant growth and no longer needs upstream water releases. Chief Engineer Samadhan Sabbinwar confirmed, “There is ample stock for irrigation this year.”

With 1,395.90 MCM of water and continuous inflow, the reservoir’s current water levels are 10% higher than the same period last year, according to a revenue department official.
