Minister Shelar, overseeing Mumbai's suburbs, instructed the BMC Commissioner to scrutinize the data and ensure contractors adhere to the required standards. His inspection included visits to several nullahs across the city.
The AI monitoring revealed discrepancies in over 17,000 of more than 40,000 recorded trips, raising concerns about overreported volumes and incorrect dumping practices. Shelar emphasized the need for immediate action to prevent monsoon-related risks.
