Cyclone Ditwah is advancing towards the Tamil Nadu coast, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported, emphasizing the likelihood of intense rainfall as the region readies for another storm in a brief span.

In light of the forecasted downpour, especially in southern and Cauvery delta districts between November 29 and 30, Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has intensified preparations. He convened a meeting with district collectors, particularly for areas under a red alert, to ensure swift and efficient response measures.

The government has deployed multiple disaster response teams across vulnerable districts, while urging residents to stay indoors and avoid coastal areas. Essential supplies are in stock, and evacuation plans are primed for implementation in low-lying regions, with healthcare and power supply services fortified to handle disruptions.
