Cyclone Ditwah Unleashes Fury on Tamil Nadu Coast

Cyclone Ditwah unleashed its fury on the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, lashing the Cauvery delta districts with relentless rain and strong winds. Ramanathapuram and Nagapattinam districts were severely affected, leading to a disruption of normal life.
State Revenue and Disaster Management Minister K K S S R Ramachandran announced that 28 disaster response teams, including the SDRF and NDRF, have been put on standby as the cyclone continued to advance. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) indicated that Cyclone Ditwah lay centered over the Vedaranyam coast, intensifying the turbulent seas and causing damage to fishing boats and roads due to sea erosion.
A red alert has been issued for Tiruvallur and Ranipet districts due to the forecast of heavy rainfall. Minister Ramachandran assured that the government is prepared for any eventuality, with 6,000 relief camps established and additional teams ready for airlift. As reports indicate the cyclone could bring heavy rain to Chennai and the surrounding districts, the public is urged to adhere to safety instructions issued by Chief Minister M K Stalin.
