Three Pallid Scops owls, considered rare sightings in Mumbai, have been rescued from various locations and will soon return to their natural habitat. An official confirmed this development on Saturday.

These owls, rarely seen in Mumbai with less than a dozen reports in the past decade, were taken in by the animal welfare NGO, Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare. Founder Pawan Sharma noted their recovery is being managed with local veterinary clinics and the forest department.

The owls are recuperating at facilities in Khar, Chembur, and a RAWW-operated clinic. Sharma added that these migratory birds often arrive in Mumbai's Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Aarey forest, and Flamingo Sanctuary during winter.
