Jamia Millia Islamia's civil engineering department is embarking on a groundbreaking research project thanks to a substantial Rs 1.53 crore grant from NBCC (India) Limited. The collaboration aims to revolutionize concrete technology using advanced nano materials to create high-performance concrete for India's infrastructure needs.
The project, supported by the National Buildings Construction Corporation, promises to develop practical solutions for large-scale applications, enhancing both infrastructure and sustainability. This initiative resonates with both NBCC's and JMI's commitment to forward-thinking research.
Leading the project are faculty members Ibadur Rahman and M Amir Mazhar, with Rahman serving as the principal investigator. Rahman is renowned for his multiple patents in advanced cement technology. The department's head, Quamrul Hassan, expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting the potential for significant advancements in concrete technology.
