In a tragic incident in Jharkhand's Bokaro district, a vegetable dealer was trampled to death by an elephant. The event unfolded near Simrabeda Mahto Tola in the Mahuadanr area, late Sunday night, according to authorities.
The victim, identified as Ravindra Dani from Murumtala in Ramgarh, was reportedly on his way home when his vehicle overturned. Exiting the vehicle, he encountered the elephant, which led to the fatal attack. This tragic encounter underscores warnings from locals about elephant presence in the area.
A compensation of Rs 4 lakh has been promised by the state for such fatalities. Authorities have dispatched a quick response team as a herd of three to five elephants are roaming the Ramgarh-Bokaro border, urging residents to remain indoors during the night.
