On Thursday, Rajasthan continued to scorch under a relentless heatwave, with Phalodi hitting the state's highest temperature of 45.2 degrees Celsius, as reported by the Meteorological Department. Simultaneously, Jaisalmer closely followed with a maximum of 45.1 degrees, while Sriganganagar wasn't far behind at 44.8 degrees Celsius.

The cities of Bikaner, Chittorgarh, and Jodhpur also felt the heat, recording temperatures of 44.1 degrees and 44 degrees, respectively. Meanwhile, Kota registered 43.3 degrees, with Pilani, Churu, and Jaipur experiencing highs of 43, 42.8, and 42 degrees Celsius, marking a widespread heatwave across the state.

Relief may be on the horizon for some, as the Meteorological Department forecasts light rain in parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions on May 15, with day temperatures expected to dip slightly within 48 hours. However, the department warns of a rise in temperatures starting May 17.
