Lions in Gir Forest: Disease Alert Amid Cubs' Death

Modhwadia emphasized there is no epidemic threat, affirming that the forest officials and veterinary teams are diligently working to curb the virus's spread. Measures include identifying infected lions, collecting samples, and removing ticks.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Jaipal Singh, noted that the lion cub fatalities were isolated incidents, highlighting improved veterinary care and surveillance efforts to maintain a low mortality rate among the lions.
