A Russian drone attack targeted the zoo in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, on Monday, resulting in the death of several animals, according to local prosecutors.

The drone hit an area housing rabbits, Guinea pigs, rats, and mice, killing 10 rabbits and injuring 15. An elephant nearby suffered stress from the damage.

Earlier this year, a similar strike on an eco park outside Kharkiv led to the death of numerous birds. The city, located close to the Russian border, has been frequently targeted during the ongoing conflict.
