Top-seeded Novak Djokovic could potentially face his longtime rival Rafael Nadal in the second round of the Paris Olympic tennis tournament. The draw revealed Thursday that Djokovic will first contend with Australia's Matthew Ebden, while Nadal will face Hungary's Marton Fucsovics. Victories in these matches would set the stage for an epic showdown in the second round.

The 38-year-old Nadal, who boasts a record 14 French Open titles among his 22 major trophies, also has impressive Olympic credentials. He secured a gold medal in singles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and in doubles with Marc López at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016.

In other notable matchups, French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz will take on Lebanese player Hady Habib. On the women's side, top-ranked Iga Swiatek of Poland faces Irina-Camella Begu of Romania in the opening round, while second-seeded American Coco Gauff is set to play against Australian Ajla Tomljanovic.
