Mikaela Shiffrin has set a new milestone in the world of Alpine skiing by achieving her 156th top-three finish, surpassing the record held by Swedish legend Ingemar Stenmark. The event took place in Åre, Sweden, where Shiffrin finished third in the slalom race.
The American skiing sensation, despite leading after the first run, faced challenges with deteriorating conditions on the piste during her second leg run, finishing just behind Austria's Katharina Truppe and Katharina Liensberger. This slalom race also marked Truppe's exciting first World Cup victory.
As the season progresses, the battle for the slalom crystal globe remains tight with Zrinka Ljutic frontrunning. Shiffrin's season achievements continue to be exceptional, although she will not compete for the slalom World Cup title this year after recovering from an earlier injury.
