Record Participation: National Shooting Championships In Full Swing

Over 16,000 athletes have qualified for the National Shooting Championships, surpassing the previous record of 13,500. Events in pistol, rifle, and shotgun will be held at various locations. In an unprecedented turnout, the National Shooting Championships have attracted over 16,000 athletes, breaking the previous record of 13,500 participants. The championships kicked off on Monday, featuring pistol, rifle, and shotgun events in pistol starting at Karni Singh Ranges, Tughlaqabad.

The competition is set to run over the next month, with events scheduled in Delhi and Bhopal. Participants are divided into seven categories, including Super Masters and Sub-Youth. Notably, the competition will also include categories for Para-athletes and Deaf athletes.

Shooters from prior national and zonal championships have qualified for this year's event, which is crucial as it will determine the scores used for selecting India's team for the international season next year. Competing teams include representatives from states, Union Territories, armed forces, and institutions such as ONGC and Railways.
