RCB Deploys AI Cameras for Enhanced Crowd Safety at Chinnaswamy Stadium

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru franchise plans to install 300-350 AI-enabled cameras at Chinnaswamy Stadium to enhance crowd management and safety. Valued at Rs 4.5 crore, this endeavor aims to prevent tragedies like the previous year's stampede. The initiative involves collaboration with Staqu, enhancing security through advanced surveillance technology.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise has announced plans to improve safety at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium with the installation of 300 to 350 AI-enabled cameras. This initiative, estimated to cost Rs 4.50 crore, aims to enhance crowd management and ensure the continued hosting of IPL matches at the venue.

Details about the proposal have been shared with the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). RCB highlights that the advanced surveillance system will aid in real-time tracking of crowd movement, help maintain orderly queues, and bolster overall fan safety. This decision follows last year's tragic stampede that led to the death of 11 fans outside the stadium.

In collaboration with Staqu, known for its work on safety automation, RCB aims to elevate security standards at the stadium. The changes come amidst pressures of retaining IPL matches and securing the required permissions from state authorities. In case permissions aren't granted, RCB may consider Raipur and Pune as alternative venues for future matches.
