Mumbai Indians star batter Nat Sciver-Brunt made history by scoring the first century ever recorded in the Women's Premier League (WPL), describing the feat as a particularly special moment. Sciver-Brunt, who also praised her crucial 100-run-plus partnership with teammate Hayley Matthews, played a pivotal role in setting a challenging target of 200 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

After being named Player of the Match, Sciver-Brunt commented on the achievement, emphasizing the importance of contributing to the team's score. She recognized the significance of her partnership with Matthews, stating it laid a solid foundation. Reflecting on her form, Sciver-Brunt noted the importance of consistent preparation and mental focus, along with strategic play against various bowlers.

Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur expressed satisfaction with the team's performance and highlighted Sciver-Brunt's vital role. Kaur stated that the synergy among team members is a result of playing together for four years. Meanwhile, RCB captain Smriti Mandhana praised Sciver-Brunt's world-class ability, citing her versatility with bat placement as a key challenge for bowlers.

The game saw Mumbai Indians post an imposing 199/4 in their innings, featuring an unbeaten 100 off 57 balls from Sciver-Brunt, including 16 fours and a six, and a strong 56 off 39 balls from opener Hayley Matthews. In reply, RCB's Richa Ghosh delivered a formidable 90 off 50 balls, but Bengaluru fell short at 184/9, conceding victory by 15 runs.

The victory is crucial for Mumbai Indians as it keeps their tournament hopes alive, whereas Royal Challengers Bengaluru faces an uphill battle after another defeat in the ongoing series.
