Canadian skier Mikael Kingsbury captured gold in the inaugural Winter Olympics dual moguls event, triumphing after narrowly missing a win in the single-format days earlier. Japan's Ikuma Horishima took silver, with Australia's Matt Graham earning bronze in Livigno's sunny mountain setting.

Despite a strong start from Horishima, a mishap on the second jump sealed Kingsbury's victory, making it Canada's first gold at the Milano Cortina Games. At 33, Kingsbury wasn't the youngest competitor but maintained a stellar Olympic record with medals in four Games.

The new Olympic event sees athletes racing side-by-side on identical courses. Each skiers' speed, turns, and aerial skills are crucial for success. While Australia's Cooper Woods faltered, Jakara Anthony claimed gold in the women's dual moguls the day before.
