Despite facing challenging winds, Guntas Sandhu managed to secure a tied 20th finish with a score of 5-over 77 at the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP). As the best-performing Indian, she ended the competition 4-over across four days.
The tournament concluded with Korea's Yunseo Yang making history. Yang, an 18-year-old, defied the difficult weather to record a three-under-par 69, the day's standout performance and one of only three sub-par rounds. Her remarkable 72-hole aggregate at 16-under 272 positioned her eight strokes ahead of her closest competitor, fellow Korean Soomin Oh.
Yang's victory is historically significant as she becomes the first Korean to win the WAAP and the first to maintain the lead throughout all four rounds. This triumph has granted her exemptions into three major championships in 2026: The AIG Women's Open, The Amundi Evian Championship, and The Chevron Championship.
