India's T20I Struggle: Batters Falter Against South Africa
India's women cricket team put up a subpar performance at the fourth T20I, scoring 185 for five against South Africa. Despite promising starts by players like Jemimah Rodrigues, critical wickets fell due to South Africa’s disciplined bowling, hampering India’s momentum and leaving their bowlers with a challenging task.
India's women's cricket team struggled against a well-disciplined South African bowling attack, concluding their innings at a slightly underwhelming 185 for five in the fourth T20I on Saturday.
Sent in to bat first, India's innings faltered early as they lost opener Shafali Verma, followed by Anushka Sharma for 23. Despite being 47 for two at the end of the Power Play, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues managed a crucial partnership, contributing 55 runs for the third wicket.
Jemimah Rodrigues displayed attacking strokes, especially during the 11th over against spinner Nonkhu Mlaba. However, her promising innings was cut short at 43. Late contributions from Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh added 56 in the last five overs, providing some resistance against the South African bowlers.
