Ollie Robinson's Knee Injury Excludes Him from Second Test Against New Zealand
England's seamer Ollie Robinson, pivotal in their first test win against New Zealand, will miss the second match due to a knee injury. Despite his standout performance, Robinson is sidelined for the upcoming test at The Oval, with Henry Crocombe stepping in as his replacement.
Ollie Robinson, hailed for his exceptional player-of-the-match performance in England's victory over New Zealand in the first test, will unfortunately miss the second due to a sore knee, British media outlets have reported. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has yet to comment.
In his return to test cricket after two years, the 32-year-old Robinson's skillful bowling saw him take seven wickets, five in the crucial first innings, securing England's 115-run win at Lord's. However, he experienced knee soreness after a Friday training and underwent a precautionary scan, prompting the ECB to summon uncapped Henry Crocombe as cover.
The upcoming second match, starting Wednesday at The Oval, sees England already missing captain Ben Stokes and bowler Gus Atkinson, both excluded following a nightclub incident investigation.
