Washington Redskins quarterback Case Keenum missed the team's walkthrough Wednesday and was reportedly seen at the team facility in a walking boot. Nonetheless, the Washington Post reported that Keenum "is expected to be good for Sunday."

Keenum underwent X-rays on his foot following his team's 31-15 loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday. After not fumbling the ball or throwing an interception in the Redskins' first two games, Keenum was intercepted three times and fumbled three more times, losing two, against the Bears. "He got tangled up in a pile a couple times and just came out after the game, was pretty sore, and got checked out," head coach Jay Gruden told reporters Wednesday of Keenum. "He got an MRI. Everything's pretty stable, just got to rest it for a day."

Also on Wednesday, backup quarterback Colt McCoy returned to the team and was listed as a full participant in the walkthrough. McCoy is still recovering from a broken leg that cut his 2018 season short. Gruden told reporters that rookie first-rounder Dwayne Haskins got more work during the walkthrough, while McCoy "got his feet wet a little bit."

Gruden added that if Keenum cannot play Sunday, Haskins would make his first career start, barring major progress from McCoy. The coach has continued to support Keenum as his starter if healthy, despite the poor performance against the Bears. The Redskins are 1-2 and facing increased calls from fans to insert Haskins into the starting lineup. Those calls take on increased focused this week as Washington plays at New York against the Giants on Sunday. The Giants are coming off a 32-31 win in Tampa Bay in rookie quarterback Daniel Jones' first career start.
