Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched AWS re/Start, a free classroom-based skills development and job training program that prepares individuals for careers in the cloud and connects them to potential employers, in India.

The 12-week program covers fundamental AWS Cloud skills and practical career skills to help learners succeed in entry-level cloud positions. The program provides learners with job-specific training on building effective front-line support, troubleshooting, escalation, and task automation techniques as well as professional skills including effective communication, collaboration, resume writing, and interview coaching to prepare them for employer meetings and interviews.

Once learners have built AWS Cloud computing skills, they can prepare for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam with complimentary access to practice exams and full exams to validate cloud skills with an industry-recognized credential.

In India, AWS re/Start will work with five local education organizations - EduBridge Learning, Edujobs Academy, iPrimed Education, Rooman.Net, and Vinsys IT Services - to deliver virtual training by an expert instructor as well as to connect program graduates to potential employers.

The program will host cohorts based in six Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, and Thiruvananthapuram. It will be offered for free, with no prior technology experience required to apply.

To overcome the lack of supply, cloud talent must be cultivated from non-traditional sources. AWS re/Start brings new talent into the cloud ecosystem by skilling unemployed and underemployed individuals with little or no technology experience and preparing them to launch a cloud career.

Amit Mehta, Head of AWS Training and Certification – India, Amazon Internet Services Pvt. Ltd (AISPL).

The AWS re/Start program is delivered in 25 countries worldwide.
