Samsung Wallet, WhatsApp and other apps coming to Galaxy Watch series
Samsung has announced a range of new apps that will be coming to the Galaxy Watch series soon, providing more versatile functions and more streamlined usability.
Samsung Wallet, a platform that allows Galaxy users to organize digital keys, boarding passes, identification cards and more, in one secure mobile application, is now coming to the new Galaxy Watch series, allowing users to easily make payments, provide IDs and pull up show tickets straight from their smartwatch.
Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 users will now be able to use WhatsApp to continue conversations, reply to messages by voice and even answer calls, all without taking out their phones. WhatsApp's first-ever smartwatch app will be progressively released starting today.
Another notable addition to the Galaxy Watch series is the new Thermo Check app that allows users to measure the temperature of their surroundings with ease. Whether it's checking the temperature of a meal they are about to eat or the water they are planning to swim in, this app offers a convenient way to stay informed about their environment. It'll be available first on the upcoming Galaxy Watch devices and later expanded to the Galaxy Watch 5 series.
Samsung will unveil more at Galaxy Unpacked on July 26 at 8 p.m. KST / 7 a.m.
