Toshiba Electronic Components Taiwan Corporation has revealed its next-generation S300 Pro Surveillance Hard Disk Drives geared toward the sophisticated needs of the surveillance storage industry. Featuring capacities as large as 10TB and a doubled buffer size, the enhanced HDDs incorporate conventional magnetic recording technology to allow uninterrupted recording, storage, and video analysis from up to 64 high-definition cameras.

The S300 Pro series, available in 4TB, 6TB, 8TB, and 10TB capacities, triumphs in providing reliable operations even in the most strenuous environments, making it ideal for extensive video recording systems. These hard drives boast a maximum sustained transfer speed of 268MiB/s and a doubled cache buffer capacity of 512MiB, enhancing the total cost of ownership by reducing power consumption.

The S300 Pro series promises 24/7 operation with an annual workload of 300TB and a mean time to failure of up to 1.2 million hours, satisfying the rigorous requirements of video surveillance and analysis. Noriaki Katakura, Division President of Storage Products at Toshiba, reaffirms the company's dedication to delivering superior surveillance HDDs in collaboration with industry leaders. The next-generation HDDs will be available from August 2024.
