Developed by Game Science, a company founded in 2014 by ex-Tencent employee Feng Ji, 'Black Myth: Wukong' has attracted global attention as a high-budget Chinese game. The game opened for pre-orders on June 8 and led Steam's China sales chart for the week of Aug. 6-13.
The domestic wave continued as 'Black Myth: Wukong' trended on social media, reaching the second spot on Weibo with 1.7 billion views. Brands like Lenovo, Luckin Coffee, and Didi have capitalized on the game's popularity for their marketing campaigns.
