Flying Wedge Defence and Aerospace (FWDA), headquartered in Bengaluru, successfully conducted the maiden flight of its indigenous unmanned bomber aircraft, the FWD 200B. Announced on Tuesday, this UAV is characterized by its Medium Altitude (15,000 feet) Long Endurance (MALE) capabilities. It is outfitted with optical payloads for surveillance and missile-like weaponry for air strikes and bombing missions.

This facility spans 1.5 acres.
The FWD 200B has a wingspan of five metres, a length of 3.5 metres, and a maximum take-off weight of 102 kg with a payload capacity of 30 kg. It cruises at 152 km per hour, reaching speeds up to 250 km per hour, and requires just a 300-metre runway for takeoff. Its seven-hour endurance and 800 km range extend mission capabilities without frequent refueling, enabling extensive coverage.
