Uttar Pradesh to Host Ground-breaking Semiconductor Manufacturing Unit

Uttar Pradesh is poised to become a key hub for semiconductor manufacturing, according to Union Minister Jitin Prasada. Speaking on Tuesday, the Minister of State for Commerce & Industry expressed strong confidence in the state's capability to host such advanced facilities.
Addressing the 21st Indo-US Economic Summit organized by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), Prasada emphasized that India, particularly Uttar Pradesh, is becoming a major investment destination in sectors including semiconductors. He dubbed Uttar Pradesh as the 'growth engine of India' going forward.
Prasada's announcement is timely, aligning with the recent Indo-US agreement to establish a semiconductor fabrication plant in India. He highlighted the critical role of semiconductors in India's digital transformation and emphasized the government's aim to extend technological benefits to both urban and rural areas. The minister called for strong convergence and partnerships, noting that the India-US collaboration will have significant long-term impacts.
