Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has secured a significant contract with the NHS Supply Chain, announcing it will oversee application development, support, and maintenance for core business systems and cloud infrastructure over the next five years.
In a regulatory filing, TCS revealed plans to deploy cutting-edge cloud and AI-enabled solutions aimed at revamping NHS Supply Chain's IT systems, aiming for boosted operational efficiency. By phasing out legacy systems, TCS intends to introduce a modern supply chain and enterprise resource planning solution that promises faster market response, increased scalability, and improved customer experience.
Moreover, this transformation will evolve NHS Supply Chain's operational model to a product and platform-based IT system, thereby enhancing strategic operations. Executive Director Matthew Wynn emphasized the shift's potential to bolster resilience, improve user experience, and adapt rapidly to evolving business demands, with a goal of generating over £1 billion in recurrent value by 2030.
