Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Gio Gonzalez left his Tuesday start in the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers after turning his left ankle in the second inning.

Gonzalez jumped to field a comebacker from Yasiel Puig, and he rolled his ankle while landing on the mound. Puig reached on the play, and the Brewers replaced Gonzalez with Freddy Peralta.

Peralta walked the first batter he faced Austin Barnes, on four pitches and went on to load the bases before escaping the inning unscathed.

Gonzalez yielded a first-inning run and two hits in his one-plus-inning outing. He walked one and didn't strike out a batter.

In his only previous outing this postseason, Gonzalez started Game 1 against the Dodgers on Friday, and he gave up one run on one hit in two innings.

The 33-year-old veteran split the regular season between the Washington Nationals and the Brewers, going a combined 10-11 with a 4.21 ERA. He was 3-0 with a 2.13 ERA in five regular-season starts for Milwaukee.
