Actor Cody Fern has joined the cast of season eight of FX's horror anthology series "American Horror Story".

Fern, who most recently appeared in "American Crime Story: Versace", joins Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Kathy Bates in the eighth season, which has been titled "Apocalypse".

The 30-year-old actor will play the role of Michael Langdon in season eight, which will feature the long-awaited AHS crossover between its previous seasons "Murder House" and "Coven".

Series creator Ryan Murphy shared the news of Fern's casting on Twitter and wrote, "Excited to announce Cody Fern will be playing the role of Michael Langdon in American Horror Story: Apocalypse. Premieres September 12 on FX."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, both Paulson and Peters, who is playing a hairdresser, will be making their directorial debuts with the series.
