Small sugar prices slipped modestly at the Vashi wholesale market here today following subdued demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Meanwhile, medium sugar prices ended in a mixed trend owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Small sugar (S-30) moved down by Rs 2/4 to Rs 3,180/3,292 per quintal from Monday's closing of Rs 3,182/3,296.

However, medium sugar (M-30) was quoted at Rs 3,286/3,492 as against Rs 3,292/3,486 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,180/3,292 (Rs 3,182/3,296).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,286/3,492 (Rs 3,292/3,486).
