IBM has signed a five-year agreement with Honda Motor to manage and run the automaker's finance and procurement operations across Europe.

As part of the contract, IBM will deliver integrated end-to-end service to help Honda improve efficiency, reduce costs, standardise processes across its European operations and lay the foundation for its "Zero Touch" ambitions.

Commenting on this partnership, Dave Miller, IBM Managing Director for Honda Global Account, said, "We look forward to bringing our business process experience, technology and transformation methodologies to help Honda Motor Europe bring its Zero Touch ambitions one step closer."

IBM plans to manage the Source-to-Pay, Record-to-Report and Order-to-Cash processes for Honda Motor Europe. According to the tech giant, the standardisation and simplification of the processes are designed to enable the application of the latest advances in automation which can provide further cost and quality benefits to the automaker.

The duo signed their Finance & Procurement Service agreement in the first quarter of this year.

"We have a proven excellent working relationship with IBM, which has become a trusted partner and I'm confident will bring enormous expertise to help us make the changes needed to respond to the industry's challenges and emerging opportunities," said Joe Crump, General Manager, Business Administration, Honda Motor Europe.
