Select pulses rise on stockists' buying

Pulses: Firm conditions emerged at the wholesale pulses market during the week as select pulses led by masoor climbed up to Rs 400 per quintal on the emergence of buying by stockists, driven by an upsurge in demand from dal mills and retailers amid restricted supplies.
Marketmen said fresh buying by stockists, supported by an uptick in demand from dal mills and retailers against scarcity of ready stocks on fall in arrivals from growing regions, mainly pushed up masoor and other pulses prices.
In the national capital, masoor small and bold shot up by Rs 200 each to Rs 3,850-4,100 and Rs 3,900-4,200 per quintal respectively. Its dal local and best followed suit and surged by Rs 400 each to Rs 4,500-4,900 and Rs 4,600-5,000 per quintal respectively.
Gram climbed to Rs 4,300-4,400 from the previous level of Rs 4,050-4,150 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality jumped up by Rs 300 each to Rs 4,600-5,000 and Rs 5,000-5,100 per quintal respectively.
Kabuli gram small variety also moved up by Rs 100 to Rs 4,800-5,600, while rajmah Chitra edged up by Rs 50 to Rs 6,250-8,450 per quintal respectively.
On the other hand, arhar and its dal data variety moved in a narrow range in limited deals and pegged at last levels of Rs 3,650 and Rs 4,900-6,800 per quintal respectively.
Moth also remained steady at Rs 3,800-4,200 per quintal.
