UNESCO's EE-Net Expands with Nine New National Chapters in Asia-Pacific
The national chapters will operate for three years, from April 2024 to April 2027, as per the approval letter from the Education section of the UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok.
UNESCO's Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-Net) has announced the establishment of nine new national chapters across Asia-Pacific, signaling a renewed commitment to promoting entrepreneurship education in the region.
Since its inception in late 2013 by UNESCO and the Asia-Pacific Programme of Educational Innovation for Development (UNESCO-APEID), EE-Net has strived to engage various stakeholders to enhance entrepreneurship education through discussions, research coordination, best practice dissemination, policy recommendations, and collaboration.
Despite facing challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EE-Net remained steadfast in its mission. During the pandemic, only the EE-Net national chapters in China and the Philippines remained active. However, following the successful 2023 EE-Net meeting at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, there has been a resurgence of interest in the network.
The recent establishment of nine new national chapters in China (renewal), Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Uzbekistan marks a significant milestone for EE-Net. These new chapters promise greater regional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation in entrepreneurship education.
The national chapters will operate for three years, from April 2024 to April 2027, as per the approval letter from the Education section of the UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok. Their renewal will depend on their performance and effectiveness in fulfilling the EE-Net mandate in their respective countries.
Congratulations to the countries involved in establishing these national chapters! Their dedication to entrepreneurship education is commendable, and their contributions are eagerly awaited by the EE-Net community.
Together, let's continue to build a vibrant and inclusive network that fosters entrepreneurship education for a brighter future.
